The route
Outer Ring Road north to Hebbal, or the Hennur bypass
Whitefield to the Outer Ring Road at Mahadevapura or KR Puram, north to Hebbal, then Bellary Road. When Hebbal is jammed, out at Hennur Cross onto Bagalur Road instead.
The Hennur and Bagalur route is not a shortcut we invented. Bengaluru traffic police publish it as the alternative airport route for KR Puram side traffic.

At Kempegowda International Airport

Metro Blue Line construction is live along the Outer Ring Road on this stretch, with the Central Silk Board to KR Puram section not due to carry passengers until 2027.

Bengaluru traffic police issued that advice in March 2026 while flyover approach widening runs from KR Puram to Hebbal and metro construction runs along Bellary Road at Kempapura Cross, Kodigehalli and Byatarayanapura. It is a police statement rather than an estimate, and it is the number we plan on.
Sadahalli is a worksite until about April 2027
A 700-metre underpass has been under construction at Sadahalli since January 2026 on a fifteen-month build. It will remove the only signal between Hebbal and the airport. Until then it is a diversion on the final approach, and it affects every locality in this list.

On distance, yes — 39 km against 44 from Indiranagar. On time it depends entirely on Hebbal. When Hebbal is moving, Whitefield is a comfortable run. When it is not, the car goes via Hennur and Bagalur instead.
Where exactly will the car be at Bengaluru airport?
