Ramnagar, the gateway to Corbett, is about 260 km from Delhi on NH9 through Gajraula, Moradabad and Kashipur. Five to six hours, and the second half is slower than the first.
The thing that decides this trip is not the drive, it is the safari booking. Permits have a same-day cut-off, safari vehicles cannot be reserved in advance, and your own car never goes into the park. We plan the departure backwards from all of that.

Charging on the Delhi to Jim Corbett route
We leave Delhi at 100% and stop for about an hour at Moradabad, which has the only fast charger on this corridor our cars can use. Everything past it is thin: Kashipur has nothing at all, and the one public fast charger near Ramnagar shuts in the evening. So we arrive with range in hand for the safari transfers and the return, rather than counting on charging at the destination.

What to know about this drive
- Private vehicles are never allowed into any Corbett zone with tourists. Your car drops you at the Ramnagar Reception Office or the relevant gate, and you transfer to a registered safari vehicle hired there. Safari vehicles cannot be booked in advance, so we build slack into the arrival time.
- Permits have a same-day cut-off — early morning for the morning shift and late afternoon for the afternoon one — so a late departure from Delhi can cost you the safari entirely. Send us your permit and we will set the departure around it.
- Zone opening varies by season. Between mid-June and mid-November most zones are closed and only a few stay open, so a monsoon trip needs the right zone booked rather than a general Corbett booking.

Frequently asked questions
Can our car take us into the park for the safari?
No — private vehicles are not permitted into any Corbett zone with tourists. You transfer to a registered safari vehicle at the reception office or gate. Your chauffeur waits outside and is there when you come back.
What time do we need to leave Delhi?
That depends entirely on your safari slot, because permits have a same-day booking cut-off. Send us the permit when you book and we will work the departure back from it. A late start is the usual reason people miss a safari.
Can we visit Corbett during the monsoon?
Partly. Most zones close between mid-June and mid-November and only a few stay open year-round, so a monsoon visit needs the right zone booked specifically. Do not book a general Corbett trip for those months and hope.
Can the trip be combined with Nainital?
Yes, they are close and it is a common pairing. Note that Kainchi Dham on the way to Nainital does not allow taxis on Saturdays and Sundays, so a weekend itinerary needs planning around that.
Will an electric car make it to Jim Corbett without running out of charge?
Yes. We depart at 100% charge and plan one charging stop on the way. The BYD e6 returns 380-420 km on a highway with the air conditioning running and a full load, and we never plan a route that depends on arriving with an empty battery.
What happens if the charging station is not working?
Every planned stop has at least one named alternative within reach, and our operations team checks charger status on the morning of departure. Charger downtime is a real problem on Indian highways, which is why we plan for it rather than hope.
Does the charging stop make the trip longer?
We budget a full hour for a charging stop, and we schedule it where you would want a break anyway - somewhere with a clean restroom and food. Often it takes less, but we plan the day on an hour so a busy charger does not put you behind schedule.
