Mussoorie is about 278 km from Delhi — the new expressway to Dehradun, then roughly 35 km of ghat road up the hill. Four to four and a half hours in total, which is dramatically better than it was a year ago.
There is one thing about Mussoorie that catches most visitors out: during peak periods every tourist vehicle must be registered in advance with the state, and the number plate is checked by camera at the gates. That registration is something you need to complete yourself — we will give you the car details you need for the form.

Charging on the Delhi to Mussoorie route
We leave Delhi at 100% and plan one charging stop of 45 to 60 minutes at Dehradun, at the foot of the hill and about 210 km out. That is deliberate: the new expressway has no charging on the carriageway at all, so Dehradun is both the first dependable fast charging on the route and the last before the ghat climb. Mussoorie itself is unexpectedly well served for a hill station, with a 120 kW round-the-clock charger in town.

What to know about this drive
- Tourist vehicle registration is mandatory during peak periods — summer and winter holidays and long weekends. It is an online registration on the Uttarakhand tourism portal carrying the vehicle number, checked by camera at the Kimadi, Kempty Fall and Kuthal gates, and entry is refused without it. Please complete it yourself before you travel; we do not do it on your behalf, but we will give you the vehicle number the form asks for.
- Landour Cantonment caps tourist vehicles at 500 a day with its own separate registration. If your stay is in Landour, tell us when you book.
- Mall Road has restricted vehicle access and parking, with shuttles running from the Kincraig parking area. Expect the car to end its day at the parking rather than the hotel door for some properties.

It depends on the property. Mall Road has restricted vehicle access and parking, with shuttles from the Kincraig parking area. Send us your hotel and we will confirm the drop point before you travel.
Can we combine Mussoorie with Dehradun or Rishikesh?
Yes, easily. Dehradun is at the foot of the hill and Rishikesh about 75 km on. A round trip lets the chauffeur cover all three without you arranging anything locally.
Will an electric car make it to Mussoorie without running out of charge?
Yes. We depart at 100% charge and plan one charging stop on the way. The BYD e6 returns 380-420 km on a highway with the air conditioning running and a full load, and we never plan a route that depends on arriving with an empty battery.
What happens if the charging station is not working?
Every planned stop has at least one named alternative within reach, and our operations team checks charger status on the morning of departure. Charger downtime is a real problem on Indian highways, which is why we plan for it rather than hope.
Does the charging stop make the trip longer?
Every trip over 200 km gets one charging stop, and we budget 45 to 60 minutes for it. We schedule it where you would want a break anyway - somewhere with a clean restroom and food. Often it takes less, but we plan the day on the full hour so a busy charger does not put you behind schedule.

Can I travel with my pet?
Yes - Shoffr is officially pet-friendly. Indicate pets while booking; a deep-cleaning fee of Rs 500 for cats and Rs 750 for dogs applies.
